Tell me about yourself

I’m a bit of a paradox—an introvert who is a people person. I graduated in 2018 from Texas A&M University after spending four years studying people in my chosen major of Sociology. After graduating, I ran a profitable small business (an escape room) for seven years. These seven years strengthened my leadership skills and my passion for working with a team.
The team I managed averaged six people. When I lead them, I lead by example. For example—if I asked them to scrape gum off a sidewalk, you better believe I was out there scraping with them. I held myself to the same standard—even higher—as I held them.
After this experience at the escape room, I realized I wanted to open my own business. This brought me back to my alma mater, Texas A&M, to pursue my MBA at the Mays Business School. After I graduate, I’m going to start a business that is missing from this college town—a haunted house and fall festival. There’s not a permanent one here, so mine will be the first. I will use my leadership skills to form a team that is invested in all of our success. Once this business is profitable, I’m going to start a nonprofit organization to give back to my hometown of Longview, Texas.
