Tell me about yourself

After obtaining my undergraduate degree from a prestigious university in South Korea, I dedicated 7.5 years of my career to a prominent consumer retail company under Samsung Group, which boasts one of the highest market shares in Korea. My journey within the organization encompassed diverse roles, ranging from global strategic planning and merchandising, to managing sales operations.
A significant turning point arrived when I was nominated for an overseas assignment. This pivotal moment, occurring during my second year with the company, required a considerable shift from being a follower to stepping into a leadership role within a completely new environment. To excel in my new position, I proactively invested in self-improvement across various domains, including strategic planning, budgeting, finance, accounting, and marketing. My aim was to cultivate a profound understanding of the business while effectively supporting the COO. Additionally, I initiated weekly meetings to foster robust communication between team members and build personal connections with them. Ultimately, this concerted effort contributed to a 30% year-over-year sales growth for the Thailand joint venture.
My journey within the company, particularly the enriching experience of leading the joint venture, served as a catalyst for my aspiration to ascend to the next level. Consequently, I have embarked on a transformative path by pursuing an MBA and MSA degree at Texas A&M Mays Business School.
