Tell me about yourself

During my undergraduate degree in Radiation Therapy at Bobol University of Medical Sciences in Iran, I launched a charity for children with cancer. This leadership experience allowed me to make a positive impact on my community, aligning with my passion for community service. After my undergrad degree, I followed an MSc in Medical Physics at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. I led a research team engaged in a collaborative project involving two hospitals and two universities, achieving remarkable results and publishing a research paper.

My professional career started as a radiation therapist at Razi Hospital, where I supervised new personal training and gained substantial experience in operating various medical devices and treatment planning systems. Additionally, I worked as a medical physicist and received certification as a brachy therapist at Ghaem Hospital, where I was actively involved in launching the first brachytherapy device in northern Iran.

My husband and I moved to Texas less than five years ago. Eager to integrate into the community and build connections, I actively engaged with various social groups and communities. As I got to know myself better, I realized I thrive on challenges and learning. Being a medical physicist did not provide enough growth opportunities; that's why I decided to shift my career to business because it involves a lot of problem-solving and daily challenges that pushes me to grow everyday.

During my MBA, I had the opportunity to represent Mays at the SEC Case Competition, where we competed against top-ranked business schools. This opportunity provided a significant challenge, requiring us to address the ambiguity of a case over the course of about a month while working under pressure. Also, this semester, I've been selected to lead my team for our capstone project, which has been a valuable experience in achieving results while delegating tasks based on my team members' strengths.

During my internship as a Procurement Leadership Development Intern, I had the chance to lead a global Request for Proposal (RFP) worth $40 million in category spending. I had the opportunity to negotiate with 59 suppliers. Collaborating with a team of 40 individuals comprising my core team and extended team, including 16 sub teams, provided me with valuable insights into leadership within procurement and the complexities of the supply chain processes.

As someone who truly believes that great leaders are inclusive and actively listen, I strive to create a safe space for everyone to share their ideas. I believe this approach fosters creativity, ensures quality results, and promotes personal growth.
